Debris Exclusion / Collection

Strong, Cost Effective, Freeze and UV resistant

The excellent product life, durability and flexibility of PNP extruded high density polyethylene (HDPE) debris booms provide superior return on investment when compared to booms built of wood, Rotomolded plastic or aluminum or other materials. These strong, thick walled products can be easily transported, assembled, configured, and custom designed for your site specific needs. Their extremely high tensile strength, suitability for wide range temperature (-140F to +140F) and excellent UV resistance, provide you a product with material life of 50 to 100 years.

PNP booms can be foam filled for superior, permanent floatation or built with ballast tanks to allow submersion, re-floatation and adjustable floatation. Each boom is manufactured with 100% full surface, full strength, certified fusion-type welds and specially designed load bearing steel end fittings to suit your specific requirements and have minimal moving parts to lower O and M costs. The benefits of these features allow you the ability to replace, reuse or repair any of the individual fittings or boom sections or to customize your debris or log boom to your site-specific needs, as your operations or opportunities require.

PNP Engineered Debris and Log Boom Options include:

  • Splash guards, welded to the boom to prevent debris from being pushed over the top of the boom;

  • Attachments, added to the bottom of the boom, for guidance of debris to collection points, behavioral guidance of fish, or other requirements;

  • Ballasted sections to achieve optimum flotation height for best performance, wave attenuation, boat access or a combination.

Debris booms are currently installed at facilities including; Swift Reservoir, Willamette Falls, Iron Gate Dam and others.
